Quebec

Quebec is a beautiful 4 yr old gelding by Quintender. Quintender combines  The French Jumping sensation Quidam de Revel with the holsteiner foundation sire Contender. Like his ancestors he has a strong presence & a kind soul.  He is a hunter jumper prospect with power & movement. He shows quick reflexes with superior suspension & a lot of scope over fences.

Sire Quintender  is a two-time Bundeschampionat finalist and winner of 1.50 m jumping classes. He sired the champion foal at the German Foal Championship in 2008 and the foal that sold for the record auction price of 120,000 euros. The majority of his foals are very popular at many diverse auctions, reflecting Quintender’s own outstanding sporting achievements. This handsome, thoroughbred Holsteiner won the Bundeschampionat qualifier in Warendorf twice and did exceptionally well in the final.

His dam Lambada Quilified for the Bundeschampionat but due to an injury could not compete. Since then she has produced other offspring to qualify as well. She is by the holsteiner stallion Laurin. Laurin was winner of the Holsteiner stallion approval 1987. Competed at GP level.

No 87 on the world breeding ranking of stalions in showjumping 2003/2004.

Breeding index based on offspring in sport in Germany 131

quidam de Revel In 2004, Quidam de Revel topped the World Breeding Championships Jumping Stallion ratings for the second year running, establishing himself as the pre-eminent – and most expensive – living sire of jumping horses. With ten (!) of his progeny jumping at the WEG in Jerez 2002, he was the stallion with the most number of progeny at this level.
Quidam was himself a jumping star; a member of the French Olympic Team, and fourth individually at the Barcelona Olympic Games with Herve Godignon. A year later the patriotic French breeders were shocked when Danish businessman, Flemming Velin purchased the stallion for a still secret sum, believed to be a record at the time.

Laurin is out of the maternal line 104a, one of the most prominent lines in the world. Laurin's sister, Landliebe placed in GP showjumping with Karsten Huck. The grand mother of Laurin, Retina was one of the best horses ever competing at international level. She won the Derby in Hamburg twice, first time as a 7 year-old. Retina is the mother of: Capitano (father of Capitol, one of the world's leading stallions), Marathon (Maximus) GP showjumper and Germania II. Germania is the mother of the international showjumper and breeding stallion Landego (Landgraf).Offspring of Laurins sisters and their daughters has so far given 11 GP horses (2004). The following have been competing international: Sir-S (dressage), Corlanda (showjumping), Corland (showjumping) and Landetto (showjumping).Laurin has one approved son: Sandstone Laurin (Holland & USA) and has a promising 2006 grey colt WSF Oslo (Watefall Stud Farm, Ireland), and another 2005 grey colt Nureyev (Bollerod Stutteri, Norway).

ContenderContender is proving to be one of the most influential sons of Calypso II. Contender is out of the Ramiro daughter, Gofine who was in turn by the great Thoroughbred sire, Ladykiller.Contender won the 1987 Adelheidsdorf stallion performance test with a jumping index of 146.62. He went on to be the 1-b main premium vice-champion in Oldenburg on the basis of his excellent first foal crop.  Contender has dominated German breeding values for many years & continues to produce exciting young stallions. As of 2006, in Holstein, Oldenburg, Hannover and Rhineland, Contender has produced 782 registered mares, 498 successful offspring in the sport. He is now one of the most sought after stallions in Germany today. Contender was ranked third in the list of the world's best show jumping sires in 2004.
